It's finally come, the big 'three oh'. Yes, today is your favourite web designer's birthday, (send presents). We'll take a little break this week from the usual 'Japan feature' to look at this phenomenon a little more closely. Damn! It's a little hard to believe I've been on this planet for 30 whole years. Turning 20 was fun but turning 30 is different. You suddenly realize that:
a) You aren't getting any younger.
b) You've lived about half of your life.
c) After 30 years you haven't really accomplished anything yet.
In short it's a bit depressing. Is it all downhill from here? Well I'll try to face it as optimistically as possible. Do I feel older? Nothing much has changed I guess, but when I think back, maybe I've gradually become more adultish in the last few months. For example, I hardly ever drink alcohol just to get drunk anymore, I always arrive early for work, I work more than 40 hours a week, I've become more anti-social, partying has become more of a chore than something fun. However, I haven't become adult enough yet where waking up in the morning is as easy as my mom and dad make it look. Maybe there's still some kid in me?
